In their new headquarter in Kolding intelligent Comlux and Luxstat controllers from Servodan were chosen as the optimal solution.
Beirholms Væverier A/S was founded back in 1870 and the company is today owned and managed by the 5th generation of the Beirholm family. The company is situated in a brand new headquarter with 3 floors in Kolding, Denmark where admini-
stration, development and warehouse are combined.
Today, development and production is focused on tablecloths, napkins, linens and towels marketed and sold to leasing laundry companies in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Italy and England.
The project
The new headquarter is a modern house with open offices, showrooms and quality-testing areas, resulting in a large number of various functions and needs to be served.
In connection with lighting control great focus on energy saving and comfort for employees was set. Therefore it was decided to install a flexible and intelligent BMS and lighting control system - and the intelligent Comlux and Luxstat controllers from Servodan were chosen as the optimal solution for the building.
The solution
The lighting can – thanks to the Comlux system - be tailored to the specific user wishes, giving optimal lighting in every situation. The brain of the solution is the Servodan Comlux and Luxstat controllers, which together with movement and light sensors controls lighting according to activity and incoming daylight.
Along with increasing daylight the light will automatically dim in the rooms, achieving the predetermined and desired light level. If there is enough natural light in each zone, the light dims and turns eventually off individually in each zone. A light sensor controls all daylight zones.
The light turns off automatically after a predetermined period of time, when the movement sensor does not detect any activity. In total more than 50 movement sensors were installed in the building and in many rooms 2 or more movement sensors were installed. It is of course possible to manually adjust the lights to the desired light level.
From the centrally located Comlux user panel it is possible to control the light in different parts of the building. There are several places installed a Comlux blindscontrol for controlling blinds. Operation is made by wireless push-buttons of the type that does not require battery or power supply at all.
The Comlux system
Two Comlux controllers are installed, managing every other Comlux module, placed in 8 different electrical boards. More than 100 inputs are controlling the more than 100 digital outputs, together with analogue modules and blinds modules.
A common Comlux bus connects all boards and an overall Comlux bus between the 2 Comlux controllers, which means that all signals can be controlled optionally by both Comlux controllers. Thus, there is established a lighting control solution with central control, giving maximum energy-savings and comfort – and which can be adjusted to the current user demands and wishes.
