Dynamic dayligt at Arne Hald A/S

Servodans' wireless Luxstat concept for controlling luminaires with dynamic daylight is beeing installed in various buildings in Denmark. Amongst others at the installation compay Arne Hald A/S in Holstebro, where a 60 m2 office is beeing equiped with 18 LED daylight luminaires.

Arne Hald A/S in Holstebro is a large installation company with 40 employees, handling all the tasks within electrical installation, computer and telecommunication installation, alarm systems, sound systems, intelligent installations, lighting and audio controls, IT-support, video surveillance etc..

The company situates in the newly renovated headquarters at Sletten 47 in Holstebro, a large and modern building with all kinds of intelligent control systems.

The project
In connection with the construction of the new headquarter, which includes both administration, exhibition, workshop, warehouse etc., it was decided that the house should be equipped with the latest technology. For controlling the light there was installed different types of movement sensors and COMLUX lighting control.

In one office there is also installed 14 pcs., 60 x 60 cm, 4-colour LED (25-000) daylight luminaires without image and 4 pcs. 60 x 60 cm, 4-colour LED daylight luminaires with the image "Blue Sky" - mounted as a single "roof window". All daylight luminaires are with broad-spectered dynamic daylight via white and multi-coloured LED lights.

The office has several large windows with plenty of incoming daylight, so to maximize energy savings, comfort and functional needs, the Luxstat Wireless Control (79-050) is controlling the LED luminaires. The lighting has also been linked with the functionalities from the COMLUX CTS-system.

The solution
Servodan's wireless LED fixtures and Luxstat Wireless controller is located in each room. The system is based on wireless communication technology, so there is a minimum of wiring in the installation. All wireless push-button is also of a type that does not require either power supply or battery, so they are completely maintenance free and energy-neutral. Commissioning the system is made easy through the intuitive parameterisation with a PC and the Windows-based installation software.

The LED daylight luminaires are controlled by the Luxstat Wireless Controller, which - along with wireless movement sensors, push-buttons and light sensor - controls the light according to the activity level and the actual daylight-level in the room.

Along with increasing daylight, the light in the room is dimmed in order to obtain the predetermined and desired level of light in the room. If there is sufficient daylight in each zone, the lighting within the zone will switch off entirely. The light turns off automatically after a predetermined period when the motion sensor does not detect any activity in the area. It is also possible to dim the light via push-buttons or a remote control.

The light from the "roof window" is also controlled by the Luxstat Wireless Controller, but while the white LED luminaires are controlled according to incomming daylight, the LED "roof window" is independent of dayligt. The idea of a roof window or skylights is to get an extra supplement of daylight.

The controller
The Luxstat Wireless Control - wirelessly controls 14 LED daylight luminaires and the "roof window", which consists of 4 LED daylight luminaires with a "Blue sky" image. All LED luminaires are equipped with a Wireless Luminare Control and a 230 V/24 V power supply. The system also includes wireless push-buttons and remote control to manually switch on, off and dim lighting. Via remote control is also possible to choose between different lighting scenes.
